The Psychological Assessment and Testing Clinic operates out of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral training program. The clinic provides much needed affordable and quality psychological assessment services to UNLV students and Clark County community members, ages 5 to adult. Individuals are most often referred for the evaluation of learning disabilities, high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorders, or emotional/behavioral disturbances. The clinic serves as a training site for clinical psychology doctoral students who conduct the evaluations under intense faculty supervision. Our assessments seek to truly understand the individual examinees and the context in which he or she lives. We administer valid and reliable measures of many different human abilities including, but not limited to, verbal and visual thinking and problem solving skills, memory, academic skills, auditory processing, attention/concentration, emotions, motivation, personality characteristics, and social factors related to the questions being addressed. Assessments identify both strengths and weaknesses and provide recommendations with which to move forward. The clinic operates 12 months out of the year and offers a sliding scale. For appointments, please call 702-895-0296.

Consultants, usually English graduate students and instructors, assist students, staff, and faculty with any stage of the writing process, from generating ideas to polishing final drafts. The Writing Center is not a proofreading service. The center teaches writers how to make positive changes in their writing skills and how to diagnose and correct their own writing problems.
