University Forum Lecture: Inside the Experience of a Virtuoso

The College of Liberal Arts presents the University Forum Lecture "Inside the Experience of a Virtuoso" a talk by Russell T. Hurlburt, professor of psychology, UNLV and Ricardo Cobo, director of classical guitar studies, UNLV

Guitarist Ricardo Cobo is a world-class virtuoso.  Together, a psychologist (R. Hurlburt) and Cobo explored his inner experience.  Cobo carried a beeper into his natural environments, including an actual concert performance; at each random beep he jotted notes about his ongoing inner experience.  We will hear from the psychologist who conducted the investigation and from Cobo himself in the only contemporaneous investigation of experience in virtuosity.
