The College of Liberal Arts presents the University Forum Lecture: Eating Right and Righteously a talk by Nicolette Hahn Niman, environmental lawyer, rancher, and author of Righteous Porkchop: Finding a Life and Good Food Beyond Factory Farms.
With an uncommon background that combines expertise in environmental protection and farming, Nicolette Hahn Niman brings a unique take on what's wrong – and right – in American eating and agriculture. Hahn Niman argues that our nation must radically change course in how it's producing its food to protect the health of our people and our environment. Her talk will articulate how America's diet and farming have changed and how these things are intimately connected. We cannot fix what's wrong with our nation's health unless we address diet issues in the context of agriculture, she argues. Her talk will also chart a course for a healthy, sustainable future.
This lecture is free and open to the public.
