The College of Liberal Arts presents the University Forum Lecture: Mammoths, Giant Ground Sloths, and Big-Horned Bison in Las Vegas valley Southern Nevada during the Pleistocene Ice Age, a presentation by Stephen Rowland, professor of geology, department of geoscience, UNLV.
April is paleontology awareness month in Nevada. In this illustrated presentation, Dr. Rowland will describe the fantastic accumulation of fossilized ice age animals in upper Las Vegas wash, with an update on the effort to create Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument.
