Congratulations to IGES student Joy Cooper, who was recently awarded the prestigious 2023 Lance and Elena Calvert Award for Undergraduate Research. Her project is titled: "A Tool for Digital Bibliotherapy: Fostering Emotional Resiliency Through A Visual Novel" and her faculty sponsor was IGES professor Dr. Sheila Bock.

Joy graduated from UNLV with her Multidisciplinary Studies degree on Saturday, May 13th and will be pursuing a Master's degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Alabama beginning in Fall 2023. She is also working with a local school here in Las Vegas to complete the visual novel, with the goal of beta testing it so that it can eventually be used as a therapeutic tool for counselors at that school.
